1378. Winterton has requested the Foreign Office to ascertain the views of the United States Government as to the future of the Intergovernmental Committee. Lothian⁷⁴ will doubtless raise the question in due course. Winterton expects to resign in any event. Emerson has offered his services to the British Government and if they are accepted he will presumably resign from both his refugee offices.
