The President’s Special Assistant (Hopkins) to the President 1
Nr 2064 to Map Room White House from Harry Hopkins. Send following to President.
“Have had very satisfactory visit London. Leaving for Paris tomorrow. Churchill well. He says that if we had spent ten years on research, we could not have found a worse place in the world than [Page 40] Magneto but that he feels that he can survive it by bringing an adequate supply of whisky. He claims it is good for typhus and deadly on lice which thrive in those parts. Sorry to hear that Watson seasick as usual. Regards to all. Signed Harry.”
