727. My 717, May 6, 9 p.m. [a.m.] The Middle East Supply Center received a telegram from London indicating that [a representative] from the Maxwell Mission and a civilian sent from Washington are to be American representatives in the Center. The message adds that until the latter arrives an officer will be [designated] from this Legation to serve in his stead. This appears to dispose of the questions raised in my telegram referred to.
