571. My 539, June 22, 6 p.m.60 British Embassy here informs me that its Government considers that action along the lines indicated in the last paragraph of the Department’s No. 223, June 13, 6 p.m., not only would serve no good purpose but also might complicate matters further. The British Embassy accordingly is not proposing to make any representations in the premises.
