Editorial Note
The Republic of Korea’s Delegate to the armistice talks at Panmunjom, Major General Choi Duk Shin, who had been boycotting the plenary sessions since May 15, 1953, was recalled by his government on June 7, 1953. Choi and his entire staff left Munsan-ni; no Koreans remained in the United Nations Command base camp. (Telegram C 62874, CINCUNC to JCS, June 7, 1953; Matthews files, lot 53 D 413)
