269. Mass demonstration marking liberation held June 16 in orderly manner without incident, though Americans warned by Consulate General keep off streets far as possible. US Navy ridiculed by parader dressed as American sailor who carried bottle and feigned intoxication, but anti-foreign slogans conspicuously absent.
Consulate General still handicapped lack vehicle passes, issuance which delayed owing change in procedure before our applications processed.
