A–173. The following telegram was sent today by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York to the Banco Nacional de Nicaragua.
“Owing to continued absence of official relations between US Government and the regime in power in Nicaragua, we regret that we continue to be unable to grant you a loan at this time”.
This was sent in reply to a direct request to the Federal Reserve Bank from the Banco Nacional for a loan for $500,000 for three months against gold held by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
