369. My 352, September 18, 11 a.m. General Holmes informed me yesterday that he had just had a most satisfactory talk with Catroux and that all questions of liaison between British and French military forces were being satisfactorily settled.
Catroux’s Chief of Military Cabinet said that de Gaulle’s request to take over the military command (my 324 September 1, 6 p.m.77) was apparently in abeyance.
