157. Referring to the Department’s No. 116, March 5 [May 6], 10 p.m.75 Minister of War informs me Soviet authorities have given permission for 500 Iranian troops to proceed to Rezaieh area and that they will leave at once. He is endeavoring to obtain permission for additional 1,000 to be sent there.

Repeated to Tabriz.
