382. The following is reported from newspaper sources: Chiang Kai-shek today tendered his resignation from all concurrent offices to the Central Executive Committee. It was rejected by the Standing Committee and he is this morning in all offices. The question of reorganization of the Government will be considered at or after third plenary session of the Fifth Central Executive and Supervisory [Page 451] Committees now set for February 15, 1937. Chang Hsueh-liang was handed over to the Military Affairs Committee for appropriate discipline.
