253. My 250, April 29.34 The Emperor has been in close seclusive touch with officials of the Government here during the past day or two and is even believed to have spent a night in Addis Ababa. Government had made preparations to leave tonight but is evidently not leaving before tomorrow. The Italians are reported at Debra Berhan about 75 miles from here.
