“April 8, 5 p.m.

- Local Japanese military mission confirms persistent Chinese reports that General Ma Chan-shan, who left Tsitsihar on March 3rd, is now at Taheiho. This would indicate that Ma had given up his post as Governor at Tsitsihar and Minister of War of the new régimé.

- It is believed that Japanese pursuit of Tamon’s forces is being hampered by bad condition of roads.”
