38. Delegates of patriotic groups met at the Parisian, a theater, this morning and selected Eugene Roy as their candidate for the [Page 213] Presidency. Thirty-seven votes were for Roy, one blank.20 Announcement made from the platform that Roy had been chosen in accordance with President Hoover’s plan as their candidate for the Presidency.
