736. Legation’s 713, August 15, 3 p.m.97 The reply of the Norwegian Government to the National Government’s note of April 27 requesting the abolition of extraterritoriality was despatched August 15th. The note is brief, makes reference to the participation of a Norwegian delegate in the Extraterritoriality Commission of 1926 and concludes by stating that the Norwegian “Government has no desire to maintain the Consular Court longer than [considered] necessary and is prepared to abolish the same when all the other treaty powers will do so.”
