Sir: I have the honor to transmit herewith a copy of the treaty between Peru and Chile settling the Tacna-Arica question.46 It was handed to me by President Leguia at Government Palace this morning, and it will be noted that there are several changes from the text of the original agreement as proposed by President Hoover.
I am not sending an English translation because the Department has better facilities therefor than the mission, and because the Spanish text of the original agreement is already on file in Washington.
