American citizen, Anton Lundeen of Newman Grove, Nebraska, member of Augustana Synod Mission, reported captured by [brigands] at Juchow, Honan, October 13, following looting of mission station there. Other American missions reported safe. Representations have been made to the Minister for Foreign Affairs by the Legation and to provisional [provincial?] authorities Honan and Hupeh by the consul general, Hankow.
