“370, August 27, 6 p.m. Today Eliot,¹⁴ Martel¹⁵ and myself advised Kolchak immediately remove gold reserve amounting (only two?) hundred million roubles to Vladivostok. All foreign military experts here agree this should be done as precaution. Kolchak refused, stating he felt able to evacuate gold later if necessary. Harris.[”]
