1432. For your information only. Department’s 1424 and your 1723,¹ June 11. Department is advised in strict confidence by War Department that one regiment of infantry will be sent from the United States on transportation furnished by Italy for service in Italy. General Pershing has been instructed to take up question of transportation with Italian Government and to cable the War Department arrangements made and date regiment should be ready for shipment. You will be kept advised with reference to this matter.
