Sir: With reference to the Ambassador’s note of May 3 last,1 I now have the honour to apply for an advance of $185,000,000 to [Page 531] cover the requirements of my Government in the United States for the month of June.
I would suggest that the advance should be made in two instalments, $100,000,000 on the 10th of June and the remaining $85,000,000 on the 25th of June.
