Washington, March 4, 1912.
Sir: Brigadier General Duncan, commanding Department Texas, telegraphs from Fort Sam Houston, Tex., March 4, the following:
From Colonel Steever:
“Fighting in Chihuahua began this morning. Villa, loyal to Madero, attacked Orozco, who quit Madero 1st instant. Salazar, appealed to by Orozco, is entraining men to go south to Orozco’s assistance. Probably over 4,000 rebels in Juarez, largely mounted. Additions daily. More disorder in Juarez not improbable.”
