The Secretary of State to the American Minister to Haiti.

In regard to your December 2², January 8³, and No. 993 of December 23,⁴ the Department is gratified to know that the Haitian Government has taken vigorous measures against the Dominican revolutionists, and that it is willing to broaden the powers of the boundary plenipotentiary. Similar action is being urged at Santo Domingo by our Legation.
