Sir: Referring to previous correspondence1 in regard to the so-called Cuban “insurrectionary claims,” I have the honor to report [Page 277] that the question is apparently receiving serious attention from the Cuban Government.
I understand that in the course of a day or two President Gómez is to begin a series of conferences with members of the various interested committees of the Cuban Congress, with his Cabinet, and with leaders of different political parties and factions. * * *
