Kingston Hotel not yet cleared; Americans presumed buried there. Approximate total deaths 1,800. No scarcity food. Medicines, disinfectants urgently needed. Water supply fair. Thirty thousand reported homeless. Clearing streets of debris rapidly pursued. People tranquil.
