No. 1509.]Peking, April 5, 1892. (Received May 13.)
Sir: I have the honor to inform you that I have received a dispatch from Consul Seymour, wherein he states that on Sunday, March 20, at Chik Horn, in the Hoy Ping district, province of Kwautung, about 120 miles northwest of Canton, a chapel of the American Presbyterian Mission, and the house of the native preacher, a rented house, were looted by a gang of ruffians. The disturbance took place during divine service. Mr. Seymour has taken proper steps to secure redress.
