Sir: I beg to acknowledge receipt of Department’s Nos. 335 and 336, concerning the interference of the Turkish local authorities at Alexandretta with the business of the Stamford Manufacturing Company.
[Page 580]As no further complaints have been received from the company, the local authorities at Alexandretta having carried out the instructions of the Porte, I will not take any further steps in the matter without instructions to that effect.
