- Italian Recognition of Iraq

Prime Minister Fanfani told the Secretary that, on the basis of information furnished to him by the Secretary at the White House on July 30,1 he had communicated with Rome and instructed his Government to accord recognition to the new Government of Iraq at the same time as the British Government takes similar action.

- Dulles told Fanfani that the Asian members of the Baghdad Pact had decided to recognize the revolutionary government in Iraq and that the United States and United Kingdom would follow suit shortly.
