235. Editorial Note

The Foreign Assistance Act of 1965 (P.L. 89–171) was approved September 6, 1965. Section 401 amended Section 107 of the Agricultural Trade Development and Assistance Act of 1954 (P.L. 480) to provide that no sale should be made under Title I of P.L. 480 to the United Arab Republic unless the President determined that it was essential to U.S. national interest, that no sale should be based on UAR requirements for more than one fiscal year, and that the President should keep the Foreign Relations Committee and Appropriations Committee of the Senate and the Speaker of the House fully informed with respect to sales made to the United Arab Republic under Title I.
