3338. Deptel 3337 contains US comments on Commonwealth PriMins informal proposals furnished to Dept by Steel Tues night.¹ These comments should be furnished immediately to FonOff. We have been informed UK and other Commonwealth members are now working along lines new draft Cease-fire Committee five principles. We have informed Pearson that we would not oppose action along this line.
