  1. Neither printed: telegram Cantel No. 1049 had to do with housing and travel problems of personnel at Hong Kong awaiting reassignment (124.93/8–3049), and telegram Cantel No. 1056 contained a recommendation that the code machine be sent to Taipei (119.25 MCA/8–3149).
  2. A regularly scheduled sailing of the Dixie by the Navy caused some concern to the Embassy Office because of its use of the vessel both for business and living quarters (124.93/8–2849).
