President Truman to the British Prime Minister (Attlee)94

Replying to your message of June 28,95 I join with you in regretting that drastic action is considered necessary by the mandatory government while discussions of the report of the Anglo-American Committee are in progress. I also join with you in a hope that law and order will be maintained by the inhabitants of Palestine while efforts are being made toward a solution of the long term policy.

  1. Sent to London as Department’s telegram 5150, with the instruction: “Kindly transmit following message from the President to PriMin.”
