The Ambassador in Brazil (Caffery) to the Secretary of State

Sir: With reference to my despatch No. 16875 of July 136 concerning the disposition of certain construction equipment to the Brazilian Government, I have the honor to enclose copy and translation of a communication from the Minister of Transportation and Public Works, General Mendonça Lima,6a stating that the new proposal, as Set out in my letter to him of July 13, a copy of which was forwarded to the Department annexed to my despatch under reference, has been entirely accepted by President Vargas and that funds will be made available to take care of the expenses involved in accordance with the terms of our proposal. I have informed General Wooten of this. It would be appreciated if this information could be transmitted to the War Department.
