Your 1495, August 15, 6 p.m. With regard to the suggestion contained in the last paragraph of your telegram, if I felt that I could confidently make such a statement or that it would be transmitted accurately to the individual for whom it was intended, I would, of course, give it every favorable consideration. I fear, however, for several reasons that any such approach on my part would be futile.
