From Moffat. I presented note to Sir George Pearce this morning. Although he recognized the drawbacks and risks inherent in a deliberate attempt to divert trade, he held out no hope of any modification of the Government’s policy or of nondiscrimination in its application. Details of conversation by despatch.13 Returning to Sydney, due Wednesday evening. [Moffat.]
