With reference to penultimate paragraph of my 270, May 20, 12 noon, I was informed by a reliable source that information has reached this country during the last day or so that pourparlers have indirectly been opened by Hitler with Mussolini, the former stressing the preeminence of the German minority question in Czechoslovakia and that the friendship of Italy was more important to Germany than Austria.
