1342. The following official statement was released to the press by the Information Board at 2:30 p.m. today:
“Ambassador Nomura called on the American President on August 28 and in view of the international conditions of the time he delivered, in the form of a message from Premier Konoye, Japan’s view regarding Pacific problems which are pending between Japan and the United States.”
