Port au Prince, October 31, 1914.

President Zamor, wife and child, sailed last night. Charles Zamor and ministers remain in French Legation. Terrific firing last night. Absolute calm in the city to-day. Hancock arrived this morning. Conferred with commander, and under the circumstances no occasion for landing troops. The city is under martial law commanded by General Redmond Polynice, Acting Commandant of Arrondissement, who is the sole authority for order.
