Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your note No. 859, of the 20th instant, respecting the facilities required from the Dominion government to carry out the provisions of the act of Congress for the relief of the people in the Yukon country.

I have communicated its contents to the Governor-General of Canada by telegraph, and I shall not fail to apprise you of the answer I may receive thereto.
