Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your note No. 859, of the 20th instant, respecting the facilities required from the [Page 360] Dominion government to carry out the provisions of the act of Congress for the relief of the people in the Yukon country.
I have communicated its contents to the Governor-General of Canada by telegraph, and I shall not fail to apprise you of the answer I may receive thereto.
