Sir: Acknowledging the receipt of your note of the 25th instant concerning the alleged stealing of horses from Canadian territory by South Piegan Indians from the United States, I have the honor to inform you that the proper authorities of this Government have been requested to investigate the matter, with a view to having such action taken as may be found to be proper.
