Agreements on customs examination, labor problems, and other issues relating to the administrative agreement were reached by January 13, 1960. The Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security, the Agreement under Article VI of the Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security on Facilities and Areas and the Status of United States Armed Forces in Japan, the agreed minute on Article III islands, and the interpretive minutes on the administrative agreement were signed at the White House on January 19, 1960. An exchange of notes on the consultation formula, and notes on the continued validity of the Acheson–Yoshida Exchange of Notes were signed in advance but exchanged during the White House ceremony the same day.
