Sir: Referring to my No. 633, of yesterday, I have the honor to inclose a translation of a note just received from Mr. Lafragua, in reply to mine of the 4th instant, upon the complaints of the American colonists at Tuxpan.

Sir: I have received your excellency’s note and annexed document of the 4th instant, concerning the American colony at Tuxpan, and have the honor to state that I have transmitted copies to the treasury department, in order that, after inquiry, a proper determination may be taken.

I take pleasure in renewing to your excellency the assurance of my high consideration.
